Work Of Rent Agreement

If you are looking for a place to live and need some flexibility in your living situation, a monthly rent may be the best option for you. Maybe you`ve accepted a temporary job, you`re planning to travel for a long time, or you just don`t know where you want to live in the coming months. A month-to-month lease should include certain provisions for the contract to protect you. It is often useful when a lawyer prepares a rental contract for you, even if it is only a one-sided document, especially if you are a first owner. In most cases, leases are considered “month to month” and automatically extend to the end of each period (month), unless the tenant or lessor has not noticed another. With a tenancy agreement, the landlord and tenant are free to change the terms of the contract at the end of each monthly period (if the corresponding termination procedures are followed). I am a married student with two young children. My family lived (perhaps more precisely) in a small apartment for three years, while I earned a master`s degree in horticulture at Purdue University. But we absolutely wanted to go home and read books on this subject, draw up and plan lists. But the dream seemed to stay long before the small amount of money we could save on my graduate assistant`s salary. When I finished at Purdue and wanted to go to Penn State to work for my PhD, my wife and I at least decided to buy a small place in the country. We looked, but we could only find exorbitant prices and interest rates.

Of course, we were depressed. But then I remembered the Hammill article and decided that their idea was worth a try. We quickly made an announcement for the county newspaper in the area where we had done home hunts: “WANTED TO RENT. Need September 80, Landheimat 14 miles State College. Two, three bedrooms, garden, courtyard. Christian student/family. Preferred rental, possible purchase. A seasoned craftsman, the rent will trade for repairs.

We sent the ad, waited and prayed. The first answer offered rent for cash plus work. Back then, the amount was more than our budget could afford. A second response said that we sounded like “nice people” (which we are!), but the woman`s house didn`t need work and was way too expensive for us to rent. We had to pay most of our rent with sweat, not cash. The number three offer, however, was the charm. One man wrote that he and his wife had just bought a farm as an investment. The previous owner had begun to make some modifications, but had not finished the work. To make a long story, we went to the place and we fell in love with it.

It was exactly what we wanted to buy, but we couldn`t afford it. (Actually, that`s not quite true. The farm was better than anyone we`d ever dreamed of.) There were vineyards, apple trees, a huge courtyard, a garden, two streams, a barn and a willow tree. The two-storey farmhouse had five bedrooms and a wood-burning stove… and there was even a little wood from which you could harvest fuel for heating! I have to admit that I`m a little concerned about the 60-mile circuit at school every day, which would require life at the dream farm. We quickly decided that the compromise was worth it and worked with our owners on a rental contract: at least half the rent per month would be paid with work. We first gave the landlords one month`s cash payment, so that from there, all work done (at an agreed hourly rate) is deducted from the next month`s rent.
